re: McCain’s Global Warming Focus Group and John McCain & Global Warming
Apparently you have not thought through this too clearly, as the contradictions are obvious.
re: postpone the inevitable by a massive spending project on a system of dikes and levees.
So now you are advocating yet another massive government welfare project? Where will the dikes & levees protect, all of southern Florida or just the wealthy areas such as Boca Raton? What would Ron Paul say about this? Ron Paul “[Government] funds go not necessarily to the best artists, but to people who happen to be good at filling out government grant applications. I have my doubts that the same people occupy both categories.”
I hope you will be starting a private campaign, “Florida Levees for the Rich,” to begin amassing the trillions of dollars needed to construct dikes around southern Florida, as private funding is “far more efficient than that of the government.”
Where will the people evacuate to? If Barbara Bush has any say, you will need a Taj Mahal built and built soon, so all wealthy evacuees “will be able to better their conditions” post disaster.
You are right on the train analogy, except you failed to specify “that coupling one extra boxcar to a 100-car train” is not a boxcar you are adding, but 3 more diesel locomotives at the rear, the boxcars contain armed C4 explosives and the wreck occurs in the center of a metropolis, next to 3 elementary schools.
And the funniest thing of all, is the need to hold a “focus group testing of John McCain’s new global warming ad” given that 178 [nations] have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol. I guess Grandpa McCain is still back in year 1603 reading the original King James Bible and has failed to catch up with current events, aka 2008.
Of course the sad part, those windmills featured in his add, taken from his recent trip to Oregon, are built outside the USA, as apparently even basic construction of steel tubes [towers] cannot be preformed by US Steel Workers.
In response to the Comment…
apologies on my poor coding to begin with, comments were linked back and forth.
how am I “misunderstanding” your text and ideas here? you wrote…
the effects of global warming will be the slowest moving catastrophe in recent history…
allow more than enough time for a responsible government led by grownups (read that ‘not liberals’) to respond. The people could evacuate entirely, move to a higher elevation, or (far more likely) postpone the inevitable by a massive spending project on a system of dikes and levees. You state…”postpone the inevitable….system of dikes and levees.” So exactly where would this money come from? and I quote you, “a massive spending project.”
now is this “massive spending project” funding coming from bake sales and door to door donation drives, or the federal government? Sign me up for a system where some poor dirt farmer in Wyoming, has to pay taxes to fund some fat cat’s house on the beach being protected from rising sea levels. Sounds a lot like “welfare” to me and we know republicans hate welfare and government handout, unless of course if they are on the receiving end of it.
This was not a proofreading error, but a contradiction within the idea presented.
Yep you are so right, John McCain will screw us slower than the other two candidates. You’re right, one hundred percent. Just like George Bush and the republican controlled congress screwed us real good and slow to. I haven’t felt one ounce of pain from their policies, because every one of them have been “slow screws” where they have you tied up naked without a blind fold for days on end as they show you the utility pole they are gonna shove up your ass at some time in the future. Man I do love that extra $4-5 trillion dollars they have indebted us with since taking complete control. I love how before I, just like you and every single person in this country, only owed about $15,000 each towards the National Debt but now each of us owes more than double at $30,000 because of the Republican Party at the Porkbarrel Saloon. Wow is that fiscal conservatism or what?!
And if we look at the national debt over time, we see some interesting truths about exactly how Fiscally Conservative Republi-spends really are. I love the contradiction in this world.
Oh yeah, btw, I’ve worked my fair share for companies and for myself in business, and at the same time had a lot of time off, yet never to this day have I collected 1 cent in government welfare such as unemployment. How about you, can you say that?
Next time you try to blame it on the messenger for the faulty message, try and look at the message & concept first.

I’ve commented on your comment. Though I didn’t feel any need to post it here, because you couldn’t do me the same courtesy. Guess you’ll have to go back to my site.
