Has anyone mentioned Rocky Anderson, Mayor of SLC?
Although not a Mormon [although I may be wrong] he is well respected in those communities and Utah is not the only bastion of Mormons. Mormon influence spreads outward from Utah into all the boarder states. These states Obama argues are in play, and although relatively unknown to the Eastern crowds, he could pull more Western states into play.

Obama needs to look towards the west, who’s electorate is always marginalized, and not including Texas, whose “Steers & Queers” mantra is not the real West.
I like Richardson, but of course he’ll be Sec State, which would be best to announce early, so he can galvanize socially right leaning Latinos, given Hillary goes away.
Edwards, need to AG, to help galvanize the unions, but doesn’t bring any state into the picture.
Sebelius, might help in the Breadbasket areas, but we do have Claire McCaskill (sp?) who is very popular in the independent anti war block on board already.
Someone needs to solidify some states in the intermountain west, and when you look at that area you have to consider the Mormon influence spanning all the states around Utah. ALthough there are not many traditional blue Mormons, or any for that matter, they do look at Salt Lake City very heavily, and Rocky Anderson, the SLC Mayor is very popular and outspoken on the war.
These states are seeing huge influxs of “eastern brain drain” read [democratic/independents] that are changing the Red to Purple and drawing in the Latinos in too, could make many of these states blue.

He-he, I just visited the http://www.Politics.Ohio.com site and left my opinion on Ohio. Strickland would be absolutely no help either as any Democratic candidate that wants to make it to the WH, can no longer depend on Ohio and if they do they are a fool.
Ohio time after time votes on ideology over its own best interests.
If a bible thumper said they could build a Mega-Church in Ohio with 50 jobs & 25,000 person capacity and a Green tech company said they could built a factory to supply 5000 jobs for direct production & could support 15,000 residual jobs in the community surrounding it.
Ohioans’ would vote for the Church so that they had a place to worship when they have no jobs, no money & no homes, although I doubt the Mega Churches have an open door policy for homeless people!

Why are members and supporters trying to find a way for the DNC to lose the general Election 2008
. They are searching under rocks and in the swamps , under the sea, seeking to choose some nondescript person , to insult Americans intelligence, for the Vice President position.
The DNC has lost the last two general elections because of stupidity. Both Al Gore and John Kerry , refused to admit and face the truth, they could not WIN without the Bill and Hillary Clinton openly rooting for them.
Now again , we want the GOP to laugh at us again, because we want to fly in the face of reality, and fail to recognise that Hillary Clinton has the presence , style and capability to singlehandedly defeat John McCain.
In combination with the DNC nominee Barack Obama, Hillary will deflect all the insidous rumors and dirty attacks from Obama and absorb them and use them to destroy the Republican challenge.
I guess it is too simple for us to understand. we seem to like to lose to the “Losers” of the Republican Party.
Think about it people. Would you go into the Championship game without, your best player, your experienced player, your cherry for the Cake. Are you afraid because your best player is WOMAN???
We want to rebuild our moral authority and respect in the World and we are afraid of a WOMAN??? If you choose any other person other than Hillary Clinton for Vice President, then we are weaklings..no doubt!
