The Manufacture of Doubt & Dissent

@ Hank Gillette

you are the only one in here with a sense of reality, all the rest are delusional.

@ The Rest

Can you guys/gals manufacture any more garbage out of thin air? Seriously, if someone handed you a $100 you would invent a match to burn it up.

Where does Obama’s money come from, “there must be further investigations into wall street fatcats”? <–paraphrase Are you people serious?! It is coming from the people in very small increments from people who do not have a lot of disposable income, who are not “elite” wall street bankers, who are out there in the 10s of thousands phone banking, knocking on doors, talking to people about sensible, responsible change. The numbers in support of Obama are akin to those of the religious movement to brought us Bush, but more, many more.

And how Eff’ing dare you claim the garbage you do about money drying up, when it is Hillary Clinton and her poor campaign financing you should be worried about! This $20 million she is in debt now for, when it is obvious she would not win the nomination back before “Operation Chaos” in Texas and Ohio, continues to grow for what purpose?

Screw us Obama supporters willingness to fund retiring her debt to herself and Mark “Am I supporting Free Trade in Columbia or Not?” Penn. Both the Clintons and Penn are very wealthy in their own right which makes them ELITE according to “popular buzz” now!

Obama taking money out of the Democratic Party, are you Eff’ing kidding me?!

Maybe all of you too lazy to get out from behind the computer of “supporting” Clinton, should put your actions where your “fingers” are and write come checks or get off your butts and knock on people’s doors to show real support of your candidate, instead manufacturing your garbage here.

I only link my own thoughts here for those interested and that I see this comment making the cutting room floor if this is censored, oops I meant moderated.

As Far as I know…. a continuation of the same [above]

Author’s note: “general offensiveness” consisted of posting a photo of Hillary Clinton & Rupert Murdock, as some Murdock owned tabloid drivel in Australia, claimed to hold the Holy Grail of Obama’s “past nefarious business partners & activities.” ‘As far as I know’ “Hillary is not a whore”…As far as I know

yeah, I understand. When someone doesn’t like holes poked in their argument they “censor” it out, by calling it a four-letter word like “elite” *cough* Wellesley *cough* that demonizes the messenger instead of heeding the message, but whatever.

so please do allow me to respond to a fellow commentor “maka-whatever” in a more “appropriate & acceptable” manner.

{british gentlemen accent tag} No my good sir, I wouldn’t paper my birdcage with the drivel originating from Wall Street. As if I did, I would find myself bent over a rail bare buttomed and lashed to within a crumpet of my being by the traitorous swine teeming in those very cesspools of greed & perversion.{/british gentlemen accent tag}

In a serious tone, I wouldn’t trust any of them as far as I could throw their pasty white a**es, as demonstrated by the guru of day trading himself, Jim Cramer pre-Bear Stearns meltdown and every so speedy weekend bailout on my dime!

Maybe you might all devote some time that you could consider “productive” in following the money, measured in the BILLIONS, instead of wasting your time tracking down crumbs of a bread not worth eating.

I’ll copy this to my “Delusions of Grandeur” page, just to monitor whether it is the message or the messenger that is censored.

Delusions of ANWAR’s Black Gold Saving the US version: umpteenth millionth

re:I didn’t even look at his blog header until now and it’s crystal clear why it belongs in this page.

Yes, you are right, the ANWAR debate has been waxing and wanning for decades now, and it is always decided that ANWAR is not the answer or solution to our energy problems. Not to be disrespectful, please don’t just advocate for something you “think” you know all the ins & outs about, or you come across to anyone that knows the basics of the ANWAR debate to label you a whore for the oil industry.

ANWAR FACTS

IF it were able to be up & pumping instantaneous at full production today, it would only supply 2-3% of our daily domestic use.

It would take 5-10 years to get it up & pumping at full production.

An additional 2-3% of current US demand will neither make us energy independent or dent our daily imports.

IF the estimated reserves were able to be pulled out of the ground instantaneously and supplied all US petroleum needs by themselves, it would power the country for less than a year. Last I remember, it was round 3-4 months.

A large percentage of oil produced on the North Slope oil fields, all that goes through the Alaskan Pipeline, goes to markets in Asia.

A 2-3% increase to only the US supply of the World Supply & Demand curve, what is predominantly driving the price of gas in the US, would “drop” the price a few cents per gallon. On this note, and the reserves available, this is “The Gas Tax Holiday” repackaged to provide jobs instead of cutting them, with the same end result; denial of reality of Peak Oil and the need to research & practice conservation.

These are all facts based on profits & “sense,” so do I even need to go into this, “Let’s drill for oil, and support the economy. Let’s have the animals migrate and adapt, just like we do as humans,” when it has nothing to do with the animals, environment or adaption?

3rd Graders Present their 4th of July Essays, “Proud to be an American”

These are amazing, given I dropped out of school in 2nd grade. What great speeches!

Watch the video that started the Barack hissy fit on Good Morning America – “LAYOFF MY WIFE!”

Michelle Obama, please take note…these are PROUD AMERICANS!!!

Author’s Comments

Maybe “Proud” grad school guy, who mentions his pride in America comes from fighting Nazis & freeing the jJews, should volunteer down at the Army recruitment office & ship off for 3-4 & 5 deployments in Iraq instead of 4,5 & 6 years in a comfortable college.

#2 Guy should take ALL his guns, and show Iraqis the true meaning of being an American, where they can choose to worship whoever they want, whenever they want, free from threat of violence.

Oh wow, #2 is back! Go Reagan! Too bad those hostages in Iran had to be in captivity longer to ensure Ronnie got elected, but heck this guy is so “Proud” he doesn’t care about his fellow citizens.

I’m not gonna waste my time further on the equivalent of a 3rd grade “July 4th-Independence Day” essays on why I’m proud of America.

“Hillary’s trouncing in Red-Rascist Kentucky Matters?!”

1 borealdreams

How many times do we have to hear this tired line….

“[Insert State that Hillary Won here] has a knack for picking Presidents….

“end the war in Iraq,” Until she apologizes to the Democratic Party and addresses this in a realistic way, she has no right to talk about Iraq. Of course, if she does apologize for her vote, she gets trampled by McCain in the fall. Either way she gets trampled.

Can’t wait til she racks up another state, Dems won’t win in the fall anyways, or better yet a “territory” that doesn’t even get to count in the fall!

end the tireless spin!

2 huntingdonpost

borealdreams: You aren’t tired of “Yes, we can” and “hope” and “change”? The truth is she wins the states that do help pick presidents, whether because of some historic fluke, like WVa or because they are big electoral states. She can beat McCain. I’d think Democrats would want that, but apparently male privilege is more important than anything else, because party leaders are ready to go down in flames for Obama.

Borealdreams

Loosely paraphrased: Hillary’s loss is more due to her denial to apologize for war in Iraq vote. I as an American am ready to make sacrifices to make this a better country, improve our standing in the world, not nuke countries to look tough on defense, to stop the pandering and to gain some hope back instead of maintaining the status quo. I even did it an uncharacteristically polite way.

3 Lady Boomer NYC

borealdreams: Your second post has been deleted. This is a Hillary friendly site. Go commiserate and rant with your buddies at dk. Not appropriate here, especially to rain on someone’s victory parade after your candidate got trounced by 35 points in the race.

what a joke, now Hillary supporters are about Censorship? What can we expect when she gets to power in 2012 by destroying her party this election cycle? Rain on her parade? She has already lost.

Really pretty sad! Pretty certain you use sexism to claim sexism.

Please, tell me what she has been consistent upon? No longer are college educated people important to the Clinton’s? I can’t imagine why, as they see through everything Hillary is doing?

Seeing as though you deleted my last post that was very kind, ignored the main issue of why Hillary did not beat out Obama long ago, and would lose to McCain if she did denounce her vote to authorize the war, it is my fault for stating the obvious?

As you Censored my opinion, then rubbed in an insignificant win where 1 in 5 voters said “they would not vote for a black man” and the entire state will not go for a Democrat in November and truly does not matter, I add you to my Delusions of Grandeur page

Enjoy your continued denial, so you can continue claiming something that is not.

Elaborate concoctions of “factual” truths to disprove Global Warming

@stevesadlov
Since when has it been considered bad to be college educated? That is exactly what you are implying, and that is exactly what the media is implying lately with the importance of “working/middle class” people who feel the pains of the current economic situation, in opposition, “they/you argue” to those “elite” [read:who have a college degree] who somehow have a golden ATM stuck up their butts that shoots out money and exempts them from the need to work. and thanks for stating as “factual” by example that ignorance is justified simply for being poor!

let me turn this around on you and state as “fact” by example as you do: If we were to take a map of religious density and overlaid it on the map of those that do not believe in GW, we would find a relationship showing the more religious an area is the higher the average of “GW skeptics” there are.

if we next set down another layer of mean incomes, the 10 poorest areas of the US, we would find the lower the mean income the greater the density of religious believers and higher density of GW skeptics.

If you believe your’s to be true and accurate, then my example is therefore true and accurate as well. would you like to “reformulate” theory?

@ EV
now green technologies are responsible for people starving?! and we need “absolute certainty” before we do absolutely anything at all? By this logic [off topic but within the fundamental beliefs of those skeptical of GW] we need to have a Missle Defense System [star wars] to protect us from threats of the future, yet we don’t have “absolute certainty” in how to make it work and by relational “fact making” laid down by you developing Star Wars is starving people “so [to do it] would be an act of supreme arrogance and callous disregard” if I follow your reasoning.

why is this you guys? anything else you want your way and will spin in “intelligently articulated” arguments and therefore make it factual and indisputably correct because you “crafted it with fancy words.”

when will you propose that Nuclear Power plants need be build in the midwest US, to power the increasing energy demands of drawing water from deeper and deeper in the ground as water table [aquifers] drop? When will you propose a nuclear plant needs to be built for every 3 other nuclear plants built, to supply the energy needed to just draw up water for cooling the other 3 plants?

Also, so this latest “decade of highest recorded mean temperatures” is the high point of a sine wave and will now start on a downhill trend? Yep and northern polar ice sheets “grew at their fastest rates” this past year too, correct? And please dismiss in the weeks following September 11th, there was a slight recorded ambient air temperature average, that was later attributed to a moratorium on commercial flight, and no contrails in the atmosphere to reflect solar radiation back into towards the earth, aka Global Heating, aka CO2/Water vapor feedback loop.

do you guys understand the concept, and I know that you do as you are claiming it of those who studying GW and arrive at results verifying it, that garbage in equals garbage out? just post your “fact” inlaid “intelligently” crafted theories, and rest assured your “people of lower economic status” will believe what you say because you say it. Oddly, I just don’t understand how your “education derived” intelligence is of the common man, in stark contrast to the “elitism” of college education from “liberal” bastions of eastern “golden coasts” universities.

I love the degree to which you all spend justifying your beliefs as factual to 100% certainty, while categorically dismissing GW theory because it is on too great of a scale of inputing factors to nail down with anything short of a 100% agreement of all studied impacts.

The complexity of, and how elaborate th lie is, does not turn the lie into a truth, no matter how many times it is recited.

So the only “certainty” you would accept is the “certainty” that nothing needs to be done now?!

i have no interest in the cap & trade market, I also have no investments whatsoever, you the hypocracy charge is without merit ;)

so next tell me, that methane has no effect on global temperatures. that methane release from melting permafrost in the arctic areas will not cause problems and will not feed a positive feedback loop to release even more methane locked in the air. tell me that rising ocean temps, will not effect the methane hydrate locked deep in ocean, that is locked in place by a delicate balance of both pressure & temperature. tell me great swaths of forests are not dying because as the areas have milder winters and drier summers, cambium eating beetles face less and less defenses mounted from the the tree’s inability to produce sap is not occurring because of Global Warming or Global Climate change. Tell me there is not renewed excitement of the mythical NW Passage becoming open year round, decreasing trans-global shipping distances. Tell me, China’s 1 a week opening of a new coal fired power plant will do nothing to the Earth’s atmospheric balance. Tell me, increased CO2 in the air is not being absorbed by sea water in higher levels, resulting in higher levels of carbonic acid the result of CO2 merging with H2O, that is having a drastic impact on most “hard shelled” oceanic life’s ability to make its protective layer. Tell me, the increasing influx of more dense fresh water coming off the ice caps, ice sheets & ocean contacting glaciers will not have any impact on the global thermohaline currents. Tell me again, waste barrels of 100,000 year half-life radioactive waste dumped at sea decades ago is safe now b/c “dilution is the solution to the polution”. Tell me again, all the nuclear waste at locations like Hanford, that has already breached the underground containment tanks and has entered the groundwater and into the Columbia River is safe?

Yes please tell me you do not have enough “certainty,” oh I mean 100% certainty that these will not cause any effects whatsoever because no less than 1 trillion different scenarios have been played out to prove that there is any concern to be had.

Once you can answer that there is no concern for any of the above, let alone all of them in unison, then I will not consider you an arrogant man only concerned about yourself and your short remaining years on this planet and putting enough money into your pocket so you can do whatever you want with no concern whatsoever for you actions. You do not care about your children and you children’s children, you are self absorbed and arrogant. I don’t need your acronyms to prove some point you have yet to prove, to know you carry water for some ulterior motive and that motive usually if not always leads back to money, money in your pocket, screw the rest of the world and your children!

enjoy your life, f*** the rest right?!

Today it’s the Popular Vote, Tomorrow it is Menstrual Cramps?!

JM: memo to superdelegates: Put on your thinking caps. Obama leads in pledged delegates, Hillary leads in the popular vote. Who is better able to win the battleground states like Ohio, PA, FL and MI? Who might bring home W.Va, Kentucky and Arkansas?

Assume either one will win the 15 safe states for Democrats. Who is more likely to put a Democrat back in the White House by winning the toss-ups?

Hint: She’d make a great President.

TM:explains why the popular vote trumps the number of delegates.

MyDD’s CA Pol Junkie wrote an absurdly bad piece criticizing the “popular vote” argument that received some excellent criticism itself in the comments section. The first two dozen regarding the insanely undemocratic caucus system and how piss-poorly the DNC has handled the primaries are particularly good.

Kentucky?! are you kidding me?! where one in four “democratic” voters openly say they made a decision based on race?!

Ohio?! you are willing to risk everything on Ohio yet once again?! They continue to vote against their own best interests every election?!

MI & FL?! the argument is old and not an argument, everyone agreed not to campaign in both states, everyone including; I’ll give you a hint: she agreed as well.

I wish the blaming the messenger would stop. If HRC would have come clean on her Iraq war vote, she would have wrapped up the nomination months ago, then lost in the general painted as a wimp on defense. She doesn’t reconcile on it, she looses favor in the Democratic Party that demanded a change in 2006. She gambled in 2002-3 by voting, her gamble resulted in her being in an unwinable position. She lost it herself in combination time and reality of how things are going in Iraq.

She has lost! The media she claims is biased against her has been her savior by carrying her along in the news, which they could have stopped covering at least a month ago, but seeing as though they can make money, lots of money they keep her around.

Feel free to censor this reality, as all the Hillary supporters do. It’s ok, as I’ll add it to my “Delusions of Grandeur” Page as that is what it is.

Thanks for adding me to your blogroll – I will reciprocate, of course.

And thanks for the comments on my blog. :)

Wait a minute! I thought Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthy were helping his buddies on Wall Street. Now, suddenly, just before he leaves office, the tax payers have to bail out Lehman Brothers, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac! Maybe they could find all those stock brokers with the million-dollar bonuses and tax THEM!
